Railcar & Wagon Pullers & Positioning Systems
Adlerwinden railcar positioning systems are your solution for virtually any railcar moving application. Built with extreme durability, these railcar pullers or winches are manufactured specifically for hard daily use in a rail yard. Each unit can also be configured to the power source of your choice: Electric, pneumatic, or hydraulic.
Our rail car pullers and positioning systems can be configured in several different layouts depending on your exact requirements. Whether you are moving one car in one direction, or multiple cars in forward and reverse. ALLP can modify or custom design a railcar puller positioning system that will increase your productivity and reduce expenses.
Design Features
Single Direction - Direct Load:
Load is pulled in one direction, Freespool out to attached to load directly, Must maintain proper fleet angle.
Bi-Direction - Offset with Two Sheave Pulley:
Load can be pulled in two directions with single winch, pull from Sheave A only to pull load toward winch. Pull from Sheave A only to pull load away from winch. Winch is offset to creat proper fleet angle
By attaching rope to rear pulling loop on car, front of car can be brought somewhat beyond position of Single Sheave Block A. This is an example of using the car’s own length as an extension of the rope length.
This layout permits pulling of car in either direction. Single Sheave Block A maintains proper fleet angle of wire rope as it travels to carpuller drum. Single Sheave Block B permits “reverse” pulling. Note that required rope length is as least twice / thrice the distance between the two sheave blocks.
ONE / TWO - WAY CAR MOVEMENT (DOUBLE TRACK) Offset with Two Sheave Pulley:
One RAILCAR PULLER can serve either track. The double sheave block maintains correct rope fleet angle regardless of which track rope is working on. Two-way movement can be effected here for each track by simply adding a single sheave block on the inside of each of the tracks at the original starting point and ordering a sufficiently long length of cable.
Bi-Directional Single Winch:
Line is pulled in two direction on a single drum.
Bi-Directional With Dual Winch:
Two winches are used to coordinate the push and pull of the load in both direction.
Single Direction - Curved Track:
Load is pulled in one direction. Vertical guide roller guides the wire rope around the curved track. Winch is offset to create proper fleet angle.
Rail Car Pullers are extremely versatile and are used in a wide range of applications in different industries. These include:
Railway Network
Wagon Trippler System
Dump Mine Car
Coal Mine Cart
Underground Suttle Car System
